The Standard Path “LEAD” builds a foundation to help boys grow into strong, grounded young men by focusing on four core leadership pillars. It was designed as part of The Standard Path Mentoring System and is delivered in schools, sports programs, and workshops to prepare boys not just for success — but for significance.
Here’s the core structure we’ve built around LEAD as an acronym:
L – Leader Integrity
Leadership begins with character. It means doing the right thing — especially when it’s hard, when no one is watching, and when it costs you something. Integrity builds trust, shapes reputation, and sets the foundation for every other leadership skill.
Daily practice: Tell the truth. Keep your promises. Make decisions based on values, not convenience.
E – Empathy
Great leaders listen before they speak. Empathy is the ability to understand and connect with the perspectives, feelings, and experiences of others. It’s not weakness — it’s the bridge that builds trust, loyalty, and influence.
Daily practice: Listen to understand, not to respond. Look for what others need. Lead with kindness and respect.
A – Aspire Boldly
Leadership isn’t about staying comfortable — it’s about seeing what’s possible and pursuing it with courage. Boys must learn to aim higher, embrace challenge, and believe in their capacity to shape their future.
Daily practice: Set meaningful goals. Step into discomfort. Chase growth instead of avoiding failure.
D – Develop Others
True leadership isn’t about power — it’s about service. Leaders use their strength to lift others up, share what they’ve learned, and multiply their impact. A boy’s growth reaches its fullest potential when he helps others grow too.
Daily practice: Mentor a teammate. Support a friend. Contribute to something bigger than yourself.
